National Foundation for Credit Counseling Announces Formation of Global Credit Counselling Alliance

May 29, 2024

Washington, D.C. – The National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC) is proud to announce the formation of the Global Credit Counselling Alliance (GCCA), a significant collaborative effort with leading credit counseling organizations from Canada, South Korea, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

The GCCA, formally established on May 10, 2024, unites the NFCC, Credit Counselling Canada, Credit Counseling and Recovery Service (South Korea), and Toynbee Hall (United Kingdom). These founding members have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to foster an international exchange of best practices in debt counseling and financial education. Through collaboration and shared learning, the GCCA aims to:

  • Share Strategic Insights: The Alliance will facilitate open communication, allowing members to learn from each other’s experiences and approaches to financial counseling.
  • Align Technological Roadmaps: By collaborating on technological advancements, the GCCA will help members develop innovative and efficient solutions for credit counseling services.
  • Develop Best Practices: Members will share and refine best practices in debt counseling and financial education, ultimately enhancing the effectiveness of services offered around the world.

“The GCCA provides a unique platform for collaboration,” said Mike Croxson, CEO of the NFCC. “By working together, we can make a significant impact on global financial well-being. The NFCC is honored to be a founding member and play a pivotal role in advancing financial education and support both within the coalition and internationally.”

The GCCA stems from discussions at the NFCC Connect Conference in Washington D.C. in August 2023. Recognizing the universal need for coordinated efforts in credit management and financial education, the Alliance strives to improve financial well-being and empower individuals on a global scale.
