Time is running out to qualify for up to $50,000 in mortgage assistance.
If you are at least 90 days late on your mortgage payment you could qualify for the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)’s Emergency Homeowners’ Loan Program (EHLP). You could receive a zero interest, forgivable bridge loan. Eligible homeowners must have experienced a drop in income of at least 15% directly resulting from unemployment or underemployment due to adverse economic conditions and/or a medical emergency.
EHLP will be available in 27 states and Puerto Rico. NFCC Member Agencies are participating in 24 of those states as well as Puerto Rico and are ready to assist you with the application process.
The deadline to fill out a pre-application is July 22, 2011. To see if your state is participating in the EHLP program or to find an NFCC Member Agency that can assist you, visit www.debtadvice.org/ehlp.
