Standards of Excellence

You would choose an accredited hospital for an ailing loved one.  You would choose an accredited college for your son or daughter.  So, be sure when you are experiencing financial difficulty, you choose an accredited credit counseling agency.  By doing so, you can be confident that the agency employs the best business practices possible to ensure your funds are safe and the agency's mission is focused on you, the consumer.

All NFCC members are accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Services for Families and Children Inc. (COA).  COA is an international, not-for-profit, independent accrediting body that has accredited or is in the process of accrediting more than 1,400 social service programs.

COA accreditation:

  • Identifies organizations in which consumers can have confidence.
  • Protects organizations against lowering standards.
  • Enables organizations to meet measurement and reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrates accountability in the management of resources.
