Eligibility
The 2008 National Poster Contest will feature three grade categories:
  • Elementary – 3rd through 5th Grades
  • Middle – 6th though 9th Grades
  • High – 10th through 12th Grades



Specifications
All posters must be between 81/2” x 11” and 11” x 17” in size (11” x 17” is preferred) and must be submitted on white paper/stock.



Poster Labeling
All posters must be labeled with the following information:
    Student Name
    Student Grade
    Student’s School Name and Address
    School Telephone
    Sponsoring Teacher’s Name (if applicable)
    Contact Phone
    Parent Name
    Contact Email
    Name of NFCC Member Agency (and Location) Where Poster was Entered
    Student or Adult T-shirt Size

Submissions

All National Poster Contest entries must be submitted to an NFCC member agency for judging. To locate your nearest NFCC member agency click here http://www.debtadvice.org/takethefirststep/locator.cfm



Submission Deadline

The submission deadline for poster entries will be in early March 2008, specific deadlines will vary by NFCC member agency. Contact your local NFCC agency to find out their contest deadline.



Judging

Contest judging will be conducted by a panel set up by each NFCC member agency.

Posters will be judged on expression of the theme (50%); artwork style and content (25%); and creativity (25%).



Selection of National Finalists…
Each NFCC member agency will select one poster from each grade category among local entries to send to the NFCC. These national finalists will be judged and placed in contention for three national awards, one per grade category. An overall National Winner will also be chosen from the three category winners.

National finalists will be judged by a panel made up of individuals representing important organizations/stakeholders who have a strong interest in financial literacy for our nation’s youth. This includes: consumer and youth education advocacy groups, regulatory agencies, The Federal Reserve, Capitol Hill Offices, and national media personalities.



National Prizes/Recognition National recognition/prizes will be provided as follows:
    National Finalists: Commemorative t-shirt acknowledging their achievement.
    National Grade Category Winners: An award plaque and $100 savings bond.
    National Overall Winner: An award plaque, a $500 savings bond, and an all-expense paid trip with a parent or guardian to Washington, DC.
The National Overall Winner will be officially recognized in Washington, DC.
